My father was in the hospital for pneumonia. 11 days he stayed. He got out right before Christmas, how nice it was to have him in my home for Christmas Eve. We found out a week later, it was pneumonia, it was lung cancer. Two weeks later we got an appointment with a specialist. Actually it might be pancreatic cancer. A week later it is confirmed that it is indeed pancreatic cancer. It spread to his lungs. Today we are told pancreas cancer has no cure. My dad's prognoses is 2 months if he doesn't receive any treatment. With chemo it could be a year.
It might sound twisted to some, but I see this as very gracious of God to send for my dad early. Meeting Jesus is the ultimate goal, so my dad will be meeting his savior sooner than later. This world is not our home. I will miss my father but I will meet up with him in God's kingdom.
God is good. I have been blessed with an opportunity to spend some time with my dad. I think of all the people that didn't have the opportunity to say goodbye to their loved one because they died suddenly and I thank God for this blessing.

What I've learned today at Coney Island
ALWAYS make two baggies of snacks because you have two kids! Stop making only one bag for them to share. The cost if saving one Baggie is not worth your frustration nor the annoyance you will experience and thus the anger you will show your children. 2 of everything! Always!!!
You don't have to close the water park. Even if your not tired. Go when it's been enough and you will have some energy left. You have to pace yourself. If you stay till the end you might be spent and short tempered for the packing up, rinsing off and dressing the kids part and that my friend you almost need a second wind for. Remember in parenting when it's over that's really just the beginning because getting kids to go.... Can take more patience and energy than the 4 hours playing in the sunlight pool. Goodnight Coney Island.
